Following its wildly successful run at the Southwark Playhouse in 2014, In The Heights will return to the London stage.

The award-winning musical will begin a strictly limited 4-week run at the King's Cross Theatre from 3 October 2015. Casting is yet to be announced.

The original Southwark Playhouse production received four star reviews, with the Evening Standard calling it "a blast", while The Times said "This New York musical turns a South London fringe theatre into a riot of Latin soul, hip-hop, impassioned show tunes and vibrant dancing".

Winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, In The Heights is an exhilarating journey into Washington Heights, one of Manhattan's most vibrant communities – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggle can be deciding which traditions to take with you, and which ones to leave behind.

With a gripping story and incredible Latin and hip-hop infused score, In The Heights is a groundbreaking 21st century musical about what it takes to make a living, what it costs to have a dream, and what it means to be home.

Directed by Luke Sheppard, with choreography by Drew Mconie, In The Heights at the Southwark Playhouse starred Nathan Amzi, Victoria Hamilton Barritt, David Bedella, Josie Benson, Courtney-Mae Briggs, Damian Buhagiar, Raffaella Covino, Gabriela Garcia, Reiss Hinds, Emma Kingston, Jonny Labey, Dex Lee, Sam Mackay, Christina Modestou, Sarah Naudi, Eve Polycarpou, and Wayne Robinson.

With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, In The Heights first opened at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre in February 2008. Nominated for 13 Tony Awards, winning four for Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations, In The Heights was also nominated for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
