First performed in Munich in late 1913, WOYZECK by Georg Büchner is one of the most often performed German plays of all time.

Written in 1836, the play was left incomplete after Büchner‘s death in 1837 and as such has seen many different endings across different productions. The most recent production in London, which played for a short run at the Old Vic in 2017, starred John Boyega (Star Wars, Small Axe) as the titular character Woyzeck, and was adapted by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

More recent productions in the UK have played at the Birmingham Repetory Theatre (2018) and the Pleasance Theatre (2018) so fans of Büchner‘s work are hopeful this influential play will return to the West End in the future.
