A major new musical based on hit movie Coyote Ugly is coming to the West End stage in 2027.
COYOTE UGLY A NEW MUSICAL will be directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell (The Devil Wears Prada, Kinky Boots, Pretty Woman), and feature music by multi award-winning songwriter Diane Warren.
The Coyote Ugly movie was released in 2000 and took over $113 million at the Box Office, directed by David McNally and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman. The film was based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s 1997 GQ article, The Muse of the Coyote Ugly Saloon, about her experiences as a bartender at the renowned bar.
The show will be produced by Jamie Wilson Productions (Just For One Day, The Devil Wears Prada) and Nederlander Studios.

What is COYOTE UGLY about?
The film follows Violet Sanford, a young aspiring songwriter who moves to New York City to pursue her dream of making it big in the music industry. Struggling to break into the business, Violet takes a job at Coyote Ugly, a lively bar known for its rowdy atmosphere, dancing bartenders, and wild patrons. While working there, she learns to overcome her stage fright, embrace her confidence, and navigate love and ambition.
