VOLPONE is a comedy play by English playwright Ben Jonson, could be making it’s way to London’s West End in the future.

First produced in 1605-1606, VOLPONE is a satire tale of greed and lust.

The play premiered at the Globe Theatre in 1606,  later being performed for King Charles I in 1630s. More modern depictions of the play have been staged at the Bristol Old Vic in 1972 & 1995 at the Royal National Theatre where Matthew Warchus received an Olivier Award Nomination for this adaptation.

What is Volpone about?

Set in Venice, the play is a city comedy, in which the gold-obsessed trickster Volpone, , dupes a range of foolish Venetians and foreigners with the help of his clever servant Mosca.
