What is The Merry Wives of Windsor about?

Shakespeare’s raucous comedy follows the story of boisterous and morally corrupt Sir John Falstaff as he hatches a plan to cultivate fortune by seducing two wealthy housewives, Mistress Ford and Mistress Page. What unfolds is a tale of wickedly witty back-and-forth tricks and schemes. Middle class England dissolves into beautiful chaos in this unexpected story of mischief, madness and metamorphoses.
