Ian McKellen to star in King Lear at the Duke of York's Theatre

    Ian McKellen will star in the title role of King Lear at London's Duke of York's Theatre from July 2018.

    Shakespeare's epic drama transfers to London's West End following a critically acclaimed sell-out run at the Chichester Festival Theatre in 2017.

    McKellen last appeared on the West End stage alongside Patrick Stewart in No Man's Land.
