THE BBC’S FIRST HOMOSEXUAL is playing at the New Adelphi Studio in Salford, but audiences are hopeful for a West End transfer.

Transcripts from a 1953 BBC radio documentary that was believed to be lost have been brought to light, and have now been adapted and dramatised by playwright Stephen M Hornby for the stage. The documentary provoked a huge reaction when broadcast in 1957, three whole years after being recorded in 1954, and this new play could provoke an equally strong reaction in current times too!
