Beverley Knight extends run in Memphis through to July 2015

    Queen of British Soul and multi award-winning recording artist Beverley Knight has announced that she will be extending her run as ‘Felicia Farrell’ in Memphis The Musical until July 2015.

    The production recently celebrated its 100th performance and continues to book through to 31 October 2015 at the Shaftesbury Theatre, where it has played to huge audience and critical acclaim.

    Also starring Killian Donnelly as ‘Huey Calhoun’, the Memphis The Musical Original London Cast Album is now available to purchase online for download, and the CD will be available from 9 February at the Shaftesbury Theatre. The Original London Cast Album is produced by First Night Records and Grammy® Award winner David Bryan, founding member of Bon Jovi.

    Heralded as the West End's newest hit show, with an original score by Bryan and book by Joe DiPietro, Memphis The Musical won four Tony® Awards including Best Musical.

    Inspired by true events from the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis The Musical follows the fame and forbidden love of a radio DJ who wants to change the world and a club singer who is ready for her big break.

    Alongside Knight and West End star Donnelly, the London cast also features Rolan Bell (Delray), Tyrone Huntley (Gator), Claire Machin (Gladys), Jason Pennycooke (Bobby) and Mark Roper (Mr. Simmons), with Keisha Atwell, Arielle Campbell, Mark Carroll, Joseph Davenport, Momar Diagne, Carly Mercedes Dyer, Kimmy Edwards, Hillary Elk, Laura Ellis, Charlotte Gorton, Benjamin Harrold, Waylon Jacobs, Rachel John, Dean Maynard, Devon McKenzie-Smith, Tim Newman, Simon Ray-Harvey, Jon Robyns, Ashley Rumble, Kyle Seeley, Helen Siveter, Dawnita Smith, and Alex Thomas.

    Directed by Christopher Ashley and with choreography by Sergio Trujillo, Memphis The Musical features scenic design by David Gallo, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound by Olivier Award winner Gareth Owen and musical direction by Tim Sutton.

    Memphis The Musical is produced in London by Junkyard Dog Productions, Marleen and Kenny Alhadeff, Barbara Freitag, Joseph Smith and John Brant.
