What is Once On This Island about?

Once On This Island follows the love story between Daniel and peasant girl Ti Moune, and the trials and tribulations they face because of their relationship. When tropical storms hit, will Ti Moune be able to settle the wager of the Gods, and can they prove that love is its own higher power?
