Don’t miss Sir Tom Stoppard’s“Must see” (Daily Telegraph) masterpiece ARCADIA as it erupts onto the stage of the newly renovated Duke of York’s Theatre (soon to be renamed The Tom Stoppard Theatre) for 12 weeks only – this is your chance to see it in the round, up close and more exhilarating than ever.
Following a critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic, this incredible new production “roars with newfound heat and passion” (WhatsOnStage). More than a revival: it’s a rare chance to experience one of the greatest plays ever written, blazing with new energy.
“A masterpiece” (Time Out)
Brought vividly to life by acclaimed director Carrie Cracknell, this Olivier Award-nominated production is a “magnificent monument to Tom Stoppard” (The Standard) – witty, heartbreaking and utterly thrilling.
Starring Oliver Chris (Rivals, Motherland, One Man Two Guvnors) as Bernard Nightingale, Nikki Amuka-Bird (Betrayal, The Lady From the Sea) as Hannah Jarvis, with Angus Cooper and Seamus Dillane continuing in their roles as Valentine Coverly and Septimus Hodge respectively, and Ian Charleson award-winner Isis Hainsworth reprising her Olivier-Nominated performance as Thomasina Coverly.
As the years fold into one another, ARCADIA becomes something unforgettable: a funny and deeply moving meditation on what it means to be alive, to love, to learn and to lose.
Brilliantly intelligent and utterly human, this is a play that people carry with them forever.
Don’t miss your moment. Grab it with both hands.

What is Arcadia about?
In a country house where past and present seem to brush against one another like sparks, Arcadia unfolds across centuries, tracing the patterns that shape our lives: love, knowledge, time and the seductive impossibility of ever fully understanding the world around us. In 1809, teenage genius Thomasina Coverly races ahead of her time, pushing at the edges of mathematics, nature and the human heart with dazzling instinct and dangerous curiosity. In the present day, writer Hannah Jarvis searches for the truth behind a literary mystery, determined to separate fact from fantasy, even as the past begins to blur and shimmer around her.
