Nominated for the WhatsOnStage Awards 2024 for Best New Musical

After playing to sold-out crowds and standing ovations in Manchester — the new comedy musical MRS. DOUBTFIRE – THE MUSICAL is showing with dazzle and delight at the Shaftesbury Theatre!

Based on the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire, starring Robin Williams in the title role, MRS DOUBTFIRE – THE MUSICAL brings the beloved film to a whole new audience.

MRS. DOUBTFIRE showcases the talents of a transatlantic creative team of award-winning artists. 4-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks (Hello, Dolly!) directs, with a book created by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell.

Original music and lyrics by Wayne and Karey Kirkpatrick (the Tony Award-nominated team behind Something Rotten!) perfectly complement choreography by Lorin Latarro (Waitress). Scenic design is by David Korins (Hamilton), with music supervision by Ethan Popp (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical).

A hilarious and heartfelt story about holding onto your loved ones against all odds, MRS. DOUBTFIRE is the musical comedy we need right now — one that proves we’re better together.

What is Mrs. Doubtfire about?

Out-of-work actor Daniel will do anything for his kids, especially after losing custody in a messy divorce. He creates the alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives. As she takes on a life of her own, Mrs. Doubtfire teaches Daniel more than he bargained for about how to be a father.
