This dark comedy from Theresa Rebeck (Seminar, Smash, Bernhardt/Hamlet) is directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God, Present Laughter), with set design by Frankie Bradshaw, costume design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Prema Mehta, sound design by Beth Duke for Autograph Sound and composition by Isobel Waller-Bridge. The cast also includes Hanako FootmanAkiya HenrySinéad Matthews, Charlie Oscar and Stephen Wight.

What is MAD HOUSE about?

In rural Pennsylvania, Michael (David Harbour) has returned to his childhood home to look after his dying father, Daniel (Bill Pullman). His siblings soon arrive, determined to work out how much money Dad actually has left and how they’re getting their hands on it. 

MAD HOUSE marks David Harbour’s first return to the West End after he starred in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?  at the Apollo Theatre, reprising his Tony Award nominated role. His prolific theatre career includes Glengarry Glen Ross (Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Delacorte Theatre 50th Anniversary reading), The Merchant of Venice (Broadhurst Theatre), and The Rainmaker (Brooks Atkinson Theatre).

His performance as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things has won a multitude of awards including a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, a Critics Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and nominations for Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actor. Harbour has also starred in movies such as Black Widow and Hellboy.

Bill Pullman was most recently seen on a London stage in All My Sons at The Old Vic. A veteran of stage and screen, Pullman also starred in The Other Place (Samuel J. Friedman Theatre), Oleanna (John Golden Theatre), and the Tony Award and Pulitzer Award-winningThe Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? (John Golden Theatre).

Most well known for his Critics Choice-nominated role on Netflix’s The Sinner, Pullman has had a prolific film career, starring in movies like Spaceballs, Sleepless in Seattle, and Independence Day.
