Venue informationBased on the classic 90s film starring Bill Murray, the smash-hit Olivier Awards-winning musical GROUNDHOG DAY is returning for a limited run at London’s Old Vic in 2023.

GROUNDHOG DAY had its world premiere in London in 2016 with a critically acclaimed limited 10-week season at The Old Vic, before opening on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre in 2017 where it received 7 Tony Award nominations including Best New Musical and another Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Andy Karl, reprising his role as Phil Connors from London.

It’s February 2nd in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and a storm is coming. Phil Connors, a big-city weatherman, couldn’t be more frustrated to be reporting on the small-town Groundhog Day Ceremony — until he finds himself reliving the same day over and over again.
Stuck in an endless loop of arrogance and cynicism amongst the cheery townsfolk, Phil must learn to take advantage of his second, third, and fourth chances and break the cycle.
