Olivier Awards 2020
We LOVE celebrating theatre and we LOVE an awards ceremony, so we were very sad that the Olivier Awards couldn’t take place in its usual fabulous way this year. We are delighted to learn, however, that we will still get a fix of the Oliver’s this Sunday night on ITV at 10.15pm.
In place of the Royal Albert Hall’s event highlighting the past year in theatre, ITV will screen an hour-long celebration of the past 10 years of the Olivier Awards. Hosted by Jason Manford, we’ll see archive footage of performances, speeches and will look back over many of the wonderful productions we have seen over the years including The Lion King, Matilda and The Book of Mormon.
Earlier in the same evening, Magic Radio – the official radio partner of the awards – will broadcast an Olivier Awards best bits programme from 6pm until 8pm. You can also get your musicals fix on Magic’s new station – Magic at the Musicals. Listen live here
Plans to announce the winners of this year’s awards are tbc but, depending on government advice, will be held in a ceremony in the Autumn. We’ll let you know as soon as we know more.
