Sean Palmer returns to the London stage as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny in one of the West End's most iconic productions, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. He last appeared in the Olivier Award winning Crazy For You at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and the Novello. On Broadway, he starred in Fosse and The Little Mermaid – opposite celebrated Christine Daeé, Sierra Boggess. He also played Stanford Blatch's boyfriend on HBO’s Sex and the City.

After 28 years, why do you think THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is still such a worldwide hit?

I think THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is a proudly maintained piece of work and a great deal of care goes into giving theatregoers an exciting evening. Furthermore, I think it has become an iconic fixture in the London experience.

What can you tell us about your character Raoul?

Raoul is a guy who is called to love and to action in the course of our play. He's a man discovering the challenges of being a leader and the cost of truly loving someone.

How would you persuade theatrelovers to see THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA?

They should come and see our incredible new international cast, Maria Björnson's extraordinary design and of course Andrew Lloyd Webber's wonderful score - they won't be disappointed!

Do you have a favourite moment or song from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA?

That would be like picking a favourite stitch in a tapestry - I just enjoy the ride!

Can you give us an insight into a typical performance day for you...

I try to get a full night's sleep.  I do the gym just about every day and eat well. I also read and catch up on my favourite television shows from the United States. I try to arrive at the theatre about an hour before the show to warm up, stretch and start to get in the mood for the evening.

You've now played many great roles on Broadway and in the West End. Are there any other major musicals you would like to appear in?

I have a great many things I would like to do, not just act. I would like to direct and choreograph. I'm also working on an album at the moment. I like to see where life will take me and not put my limited dreams on the limitless possibility that is life.
