The Lyons Tickets

  • The European premiere of the dark American hit comedy THE LYONS by acclaimed playwright Nicky Silver, comes to London's Menier Chocolate Factory.
The Lyons have gathered around the hospital bed of their dying father Ben. But surface compassion and sadness soon gives way to bickering, sniping and betraying each other's secrets.
Rita Lyons, the indomitable matriarch of a dysfunctional family is at a major crossroads. Her husband is dying, her son is in a dubious relationship, and her daughter is barely holding it together. And worst of all, Rita can’t figure out how to redesign her living room!
This exploration of a fractured family is at once savagely funny and heart-breaking.
“Oh, they’re just awful people, those Lyons. They’re whiny, denigrating, vicious, self-centered, recriminatory... And they’re a family that you will really, really want to spend time with." - The New York Times
Recently seen on Broadway, the show will be directed again by Mark Brokaw whose credits include Cinderella (currently on Broadway), This Is Our Youth, As Bees in Honey Drown and How I Learned to Drive. He also directed Lobby Hero both in New York and at the Donmar (which transferred to Ambassadors Theatre).

Due to strong language, not recommended for audiences under the age of 13.
