Angela Lansbury's return to the West End stage is a runaway success, with five star reviews for BLITHE SPIRIT at the Gielgud Theatre.

The Noël Coward comedy received five stars from The Telegraph, Daily Mail, and The Express, along with four stars from The Guardian, Independent and Evening Standard.

Simon Edge of The Express praised the 88-year old “force of nature” as “gob-smackingly brilliant”. “Dame Angela Lansbury…is in a different league. It's not just a treat but a privilege to have seen this Arcati and I urge anyone else to do the same.”

The Daily Mail's Quentin Letts described the show as “West End event”, with a “perfect” Lansbury who “makes it look effortless.”

The Telegraph's Charles Spencer said, “Lansbury is on sparkling form… in this richly enjoyable revival of one of Noël Coward’s most inventive comedies. [She] brings astonishing energy and comic panache to her performance… This is a tour de force that will glow warmly in the memory of all who see it… The whole show is a treat.”

Simon Edge applauded the entire cast including Jemima Rooper, Janie Dee, Charles Edwards and the “gloriously self-absorbed” Patsy Ferran making a “remarkable professional debut.”
