Tickets are now on sale for the latest addition to the West End, THE COMMITMENTS. The musical adaptation of Roddy Doyle's best selling novel will make its London debut at the Palace Theatre in September 2013, with all preview performances currently half price.

THE COMMITMENTS musical, which has been more than two years in the making, will be exclusively based on Roddy Doyle's original 1987 novel. The book was first made into the iconic 1991 film of the same name, going on to win four BAFTAS.

The new musical production will be directed by the award-winning Jamie Lloyd, the man behind the current ‘Trafalgar Transformed’ season at Trafalgar Studios 1, including the 2013 Olivier Award nominated production of Macbeth starring James McAvoy, and the upcoming revival of Harold Pinter's The Hothouse, starring John Simm and Simon Russell Beale.

THE COMMITMENTS tells the story of a young working class music fan who unites an unlikely bunch of amateur musicians to create the finest soul band Dublin has ever produced. As they begin to make a name for themselves, egos clash and the group begins to self-destruct…

No cast has yet been announced, but producers held open auditions in Dublin in March to find potential cast members with 'authentic' local accents. THE COMMITMENTS is packed with such hits as “You Keep Me Hangin’ On”, “Chain of Fools”, “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”, “Mustang Sally”, and “Try A Little Tenderness”.
