On Saturday 6 April Abba musical MAMMA MIA! celebrated 14 years since its world premiere in London. The popular musical also extended its booking period until 5 April 2014, guaranteeing a 15th anniversary celebration next year.

MAMMA MIA! originally opened in London at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6 April 1999. Producer Judy Craymer remembered, "The audience went wild. They were literally out of their seats and singing and dancing in the aisles - and they still are. Every night."

The production later transferred to the Prince of Wales Theatre on 3 June 2004, and later re-opened at the Novello Theatre on 6 September 2012.

The current West End cast of MAMMA MIA! is led by Helen Hobson (Donna Sheridan), Joanna Monro (Rosie) and Kim Ismay (Tanya), with Gary Milner (Sam Carmichael), Neil Roberts (Harry Bright), James Gaddas (Bill Austin). The younger generation of characters features Charlotte Wakefield (Sophie Sheridan), Andreas Gyllander (Sky), Abiola Ogunbiyi (Ali), Tasha Taylor Johnson (Lisa), Steven Oliver (Pepper) and Liam Doyle (Eddie), with Claire Poyzer sometimes in the role of Donna.

In MAMMA MIA!, forty-something single mum Donna recalls memories of distant carefree days on the eve of her daughter's wedding. To discover who her father is, Sophie brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. With book by Catherine Johnson, the musical boasts such Abba hits as "The Winner Takes It All", "Money Money Money", "Dancing Queen", "Chiquitita", "Voulez Vous", "S.O.S", "Thank You for the Music", "Knowing Me Knowing You" and, of course, "Mamma Mia".

Director Phyllida Lloyd and producer Judy Craymer (Viva Forever!) were also the creative forces behind the 2008 film starring Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan.

Since opening in London’s West End, the stage show has become a global phenomenon, seen by more than 50 million people, in 37 productions staged in over 300 cities and translated into 14 languages. Book your MAMMA MIA! tickets today!
