London's West End stars Tom Chambers, currently charming us on stage in Top Hat at the Aldwych Theatre, and Spamalot's Bonnie Langford, are among those taking part in a campaign aimed to boost the West End attendances in the wake of the Olympics. They will join West End's top chefs, hoteliers, and the London Mayor Boris Johnson as part of a six-week series of events which kicked off on 20 August 2012, titled "The Perfect West End Day".

Each will speak about their ideal West End day, while there will also be a series of prize draws and suggested West End itineraries.  Mayor Boris Johnson has said of the campaign, "The Olympic Games gave us a fantastic opportunity to showcase what London has to offer and we need to build on this success and show why the capital is the best big city on the planet to live, visit and do business in."

The Perfect West End Day is being launched following feedback from several business owners that the West End suffered a significant drop in footfall during the London 2012 Games.
