Killian Donnelly leads the cast of The Commitments

    Killian Donnelly will join the cast of new musical THE COMMITMENTS, coming to the West End's Palace Theatre this September. Donnelly will play lead singer Declan "Deco" Cuffe. 

    Donnelly's West End theatre credits include Les Misérables, The Phantom Of The Opera and Billy Elliot The Musical, as well as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at the Gate Theatre. His screen credits include The Tudors, and appearing in the award-winning 2012 film version Les Misérables as Combeferre. Adding further to his Les Misérables credentials, Donnelly also played the role of the role of Courfeyrac in the 25th Anniversary Concert at London's O2 Arena.

    Donnelly has also extensively appeared on stage in his native Ireland, in such productions as West Side Story (Solstice Theatre); Aladdin and Michael Collins: A Musical Drama (Cork Opera House); and in Dublin, The Wireman and Cinderella (Gaiety Theatre), and Singin’ in the Rain and The Full Monty (Olympia Theatre).

    Booker Prize winner Roddy Doyle's best-selling novel THE COMMITMENTS – about an unlikely bunch of amateur musicians who become the finest soul band Dublin has ever produced – will makes its world musical premiere on the West End with previews from Saturday 21 September. Jamie Lloyd (Macbeth, The Hothouse, The Pride, all at Trafalgar Studios) will direct.
